Our History

Carolyn Spoor is the current owner and manager of Discovery Station Preschool. The preschool was first owned by Carol White, who developed the programming and started the preschool in 2002. The current location opened in the Fall of 2003.

Carolyn was hired in 2010 by Carol White, and became manager in 2012. After Carol White decided to retire in 2021, Carolyn purchased the preschool program and decided to continue providing the unique program that shares God's love with the children enrolled in the preschool, and their families. Carolyn has completed her training as an Early Childhood Educator and holds all up to date certifications for First Aid and Criminal Records Check. Carolyn is the mother of 3 young adult children, and along with her husband, lives and attends church in the Murrayville area.

Our Philosophy — Love is spoken here

We believe that each child is a unique and valuable person created by God for a purpose. This provides a challenge to present opportunities for each child to develop and grow socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and spiritually. Every effort will be made to provide a non-threatening, safe and stimulating environment where each child may investigate, and express his/her ideas while interacting with peers. We will also strive to develop in each child an awareness of God’s love and care, as well as his/her responsibility to share with and care for others and respect the rights of others.

Our Teachers

At Discovery Station Preschool, we know that the best learning occurs through hands-on, joy filled interactions. You will find our educators full of enthusiasm, love and dedication to the teaching of young children. Our programing requires intelligent and highly skilled instructors who intentionally engage in child centred activities to facilitate rich and relevant learning. We are very proud of our exceptional teachers. All teachers have been licensed by the Child Care Facilities Licensing Board and in accordance with Provincial Regulations, hold an up to date Criminal Record Check and First Aid Certificate. Professional development is ongoing.
